ISTS/JAXA Asian Students Invitation Program

ISTS (International Symposium on Space Technology and Science) is the most popular international conference in Japan concerning space technology and science. Its objectives are to encourage specialists of space engineering, space science, space medical and space law to exchange information through presentations and to promote space related activities. ISTS is organized biennially. Since the first symposium was held in 1959 in Tokyo, Japan, ISTS has been held constantly, recently biennially, in Japan (http://www.ists.or.jp/2011/).

Since the 26th ISTS in 2007, ISTS and JAXA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, have been promoting the Asian Student Invitation program, which was designed so that it could provide Asian graduate students with opportunity to get acquainted with the cutting-edge space technology and science and to promote friendship and exchanges among the students from various Asian countries.

On the occasion of the 28th ISTS, the Organizing Committee cordially invites Asian graduate students who are studying space technology and its applications including space data utilization such as remote sensing, satellite communication and GPS application in the master or doctoral course at Asian universities to the symposium to be held in OKINAWA, the southern most island of Japan, on 6th-10th June, 2011. Please apply to this invitation program and take nice opportunity to discuss and exchange your views of the space development and utilization with students from other countries. The support of this program covers the domestic and international transportation, accommodation, registration fee, welcome reception and other student programs organized by Japanese students.
